Lily Qi is Assistant Chief Administrative Officer who oversees economic and workforce development in Montgomery County, Maryland. Since joining the County government in 2008, she has led several priority initiatives to advance economic competitiveness, entrepreneurship, global partnerships, and government cultural competency. She was a key player in establishing public-private partnerships including BioHealth Innovation, Inc. and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation. Lily was previously the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for the Washington, DC Economic Partnership and a spokesperson for the DC Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking.
Lily is also a community leader and influencer who was featured in the Washington Business Journal, Bethesda Magazine, China Daily, and Asian Fortune and quoted in NPR. Her civic involvement includes serving as Chair of the Maryland Governor’s Commission on Asian American Affairs, President of OCA-DC, columnist for Asian Fortune, and board members of numerous community organizations including Leadership Montgomery, VisArts, and Committee for Montgomery.
